WHAT IS THE OBJECTIVE OF THIS COURSE?

This professional diploma in advertising & design is an intensive training and development series planned to equip aspiring individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to bring a communication design project to fruition. Students can expect to learn through site visits, case studies, hands-on assignments and exploration into contemporary design. In this program, we aim to instill in students, the right attitude and perspective for embracing design - to understand and respect every stage of its development so as to implement effective solutions to meet the specified requirements of the brief. In addition, students are prepared to take on careers in the New World Economy with our MAD* integrated approach. We aim to instill in participants the know-how to integrate MAD in their implementation of solutions to meet the specified requirements of the brief.


MAD : Marketing | Advertising | Design

WHAT IS THE ADVANTAGE OF THIS COURSE?

Students will be exposed to the professional training in communication design. They will be taught the essential skills required for professional practice by industry practitioners. Upon successful completion of this course, students will have developed a personal profile (print and web) to showcase their portfolios, which they will amass during the course of study. These will serve as credentials/credits for their future design career pursuits and educational advancements in advertising and design related learning. Upon successful completion of the above course, students will be considered professionally equipped with knowledge and skills in communication design.This program goes Beyond Design. Design is viewed as a strategic communication tool within the broader context of advertising and marketing. This professional diploma is integrative. Through this course, students will also learn how to approach the briefs in the direction of strategic development (message strategy) and how its implementation can be carried out effectively via design by considering the critical factors such target audience, media selection etc. Students can expect to learn through case studies, creative engagement and presentation. Students will be taught concepts (not topics) and how these are related to other concepts. The emphasis is on holistic learning. It aims to give students an insight into the theoretical and practical issues that need to be addressed in advertising planning and design (implementation). It is designed to simulate the real world of advertising without compromising on theory.

WHO SHOULD APPLY?

Individuals who wish to go BEYOND DESIGN and aim to go beyond the beautiful graphic by executing their design with understanding and application of marketing and advertising strategy.
